The Arenal Volcano National Park is located in the northern region of the country, in the Cordillera Volcanica Guanacaste.

Description

The main attraction of this park is its impressive volcano. With an almost perfect cone of 1657 meters high, the Arenal Volcano is the youngest and most active volcano in Costa Rica. Their constant eruptions offer the visitor the best natural spectacle in the country. The volcano is active since 1968 when it erupted after being dormant for 400 years.

In alrederoes park can be found four types of forests that give home to 3451 species of flora and fauna of 2459.

Faced with the volcano is the country's largest lake, Laguna del Arenal is famous worldwide due to activities such as "windsurfing" and sport fishing. His constant breeze makes this lake one of the best places for windsurfing in the world.

In the Arenal Volcano National Park can also find many paths that lead to the amazing waterfalls and rivers while walking among the beautiful plants and stumbles on some of the animals that live there.
