It is located in the province of Guanacaste Conservation Area Tilaran (ACT), between the rivers Tempisque and Bebedero.

Description

Palo Verde is one of the most ecological diversity of the country. It has a lot of birds, both aquatic and terrestrial. Many migratory, especially between January and February which is when thousands of migratory birds make their stops in these rich swamps giving place to the largest concentration of birds throughout Central America.

Besides birds, you can see animals as deer, monkeys, iguanas, pizotes and others in the area of Catalina, although there are no footpaths in this area.

The Palo Verde National Park has all the facilities necessary to make the most of this wonderful place, a shelter with capacity for 36 people, a dining room, camping area for up to 60 people, a metal pier, an observation tower of waterfowl, drinking water, electricity and five walks up to 1400 meters.
