Description

Tapanti National Park is one of the rainiest places of Costa Rica and also one of the most significant of the nature of Costa Rica thanks to its abundant flora and fauna.

The park has several well-marked trails. With those you can go into the lush forests and enjoy the beautiful singing of nature. In some stretches of the trail can not avoid stopping to admire the majestic landscapes that Tapanti has to offer.

A path will take you up the banks of the river Grande de Orosi, on which you can swim if you want or simply sit in one of the huge rocks to enjoy the scenery with the river as background music.

As we stated earlier, the National Park Tapantí possesses a great wealth of flora and fauna. There are around 45 species of mammals, about 260 species of birds, 28 reptiles, about 28 species of amphibians and many, but many species of insects.

We recommend carrying an umbrella and comfortable clothes to walk the trails snugly. In addition, replacement batteries and enough space on your digital camera, or  extra photographic film rolls if your camera is not digital.

The final stretch of road access is not asphalted so it is advisable to use a four-wheel drive vehicle, although it is not necessary if you don't care driving slowly to appreciate the beautiful landscape of the journey.

Tapantí National Park has an information centre, parking, viewpoints, drinking water, restrooms, first aid and trails.

Climate

Frío y muy lluvioso.
