Guanacaste

Guanacaste is in the far west of the country, includes most of the territory which was annexed the country on July 25, 1824. For its extension is the second largest province in the country, but also the less populated.

Its geography is plain except for the Cordillera de Guanacaste, and with some higher areas in the Nicoya Peninsula. The economic potential of Guanacaste lies in tourism, since its beaches are very attractive scenic, and its climate is warm. In Liberia is located the second most important airport in Costa Rica, called Daniel Oduber International Airport.
