Heredia

It is located in north-central part of the country. It is the smallest province of Costa Rica and is famous because of its plantations of coffee, the "Golden Grain" as it is called in Costa Rica.

Heredia is located 12 km from San Jose. It maintains an average temperature of 23 ° C. The capital of the province is the city of Heredia, known as the "city of flowers"where the National University is located, one of the most important universities in Costa Rica.

This province offers the wonders of ecological part of the Cordillera Central including the Barva Volcano at 2,906 meters above sea level. It also located in this province the rainforest of Braulio Carrillo National Park.

Heredia is one of the most beautiful provinces of Costa Rica because is endowed with innumerable natural havens such as tropical forests, beautiful waterfalls, magnificent rivers and wonderful volcanoes. Although all of these places you can find an endless number of wildlife, Heredia have places like The world of snakes, The Butterfly Farm, The INBioparque and La Paz Waterfall Gardens, which apart from cataracts and also has a butterfly vivarium and a snakes farm.
