- Description
- The province of Limon is located in the Costa Rican Caribbean. In his fourth trip to americas, Christopher Columbus landed on the Caribbean coast and was so impressed by its natural wonders that appointed Costa Rica (rich coast). Limon, also known as the pearl of the Caribbean, is an exotic province, characterized by its cultural diversity, by the kindness and hospitality of its people and its rich traditions. This province of predominantly humid tropical climate offers more than 300 miles of beautiful beaches, some of which are part of protected areas for their natural wealth, such as the Tortuguero National Park, Forest Reserve Matina-Paquare, the Biological Reserve Gandoca Manzanillo, among others. Its beaches, mostly white sand, are ideal for swimming, sunbathing, to practice ecotourism, fishing, diving and surfing.
